More than 10,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles in Canada are being recalled due to a potential braking problem, according to Recall Canada.
The recall involves certain 2017–2018 models equipped with 3.5L EcoBoost engines. Officials say brake fluid may leak from the master cylinder into the brake booster, which could reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.
Drivers may notice warning signs such as a red brake warning light, a chime, or changes in how the brake pedal feels.
Ford says dealerships will repair the issue at no cost. Vehicle owners are encouraged to check their VIN and contact their dealer for more information.
