Canadian Pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko Triumphs at CMIM Piano 2024

Canadian pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko has emerged as the grand laureate of the Piano 2024 edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM), securing the top spot on the podium. Renowned for his exceptional technical prowess and captivating musicality, Izik-Dzurko also stood out for his charismatic stage presence.



In addition to winning the top prize, Izik-Dzurko garnered several special awards. The finals took place at the Maison symphonique, where the six finalists performed the concerto of their choice, accompanied by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) under the baton of guest conductor Xian Zhang.


The international jury, chaired by cultural manager Zarin Mehta (USA, India), comprised nine distinguished members: Dmitri Alexeev (Russia, UK), Lydia Artymiw (USA), Louise Bessette (Canada), Jan Jiracek von Arnim (Germany), Robert Levin (USA), Hélène Mercier (Canada), Ronan O’Hora (UK, Ireland), and Minsoo Sohn (South Korea). In total, over $200,000 in prizes and scholarships were awarded.

- First Prize Sibylla-Hesse worth $140,000

- Grand Prize in cash: $30,000 offered by the City of Montreal



- Joseph Rouleau Career Development Grant: $50,000 offered by the Azrieli Foundation

- Steinway Recording Prize: valued at $54,000, offered by Steinway & Sons

- Steinway Prizewinner Concerts Korean Tour: (World Culture Network) in March 2025, with additional concerts to be announced, offered by Steinway & Sons

- Engagement for a Concert or Recital: in a future program of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, offered by the OSM.


Jaeden Izik-Dzurko's remarkable achievement at CMIM Piano 2024 not only highlights his extraordinary talent but also promises an exciting future as he continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his performances.
