CPKC Holiday Train Returns to Beaconsfield and Montreal West With Free Concerts on November 19

Holiday lights, live music and a chance to give back: the CPKC Holiday Train is returning to Montreal West and Beaconsfield on Thursday, November 19, 2026.
The two local stops will help launch this year’s North American tour, bringing the brightly decorated train and free outdoor concerts to communities while collecting donations for local food banks.
For West Island families, the Beaconsfield stop offers an opportunity to enjoy a festive evening close to home.
Where and When to See the Train
Both local stops will feature performances by MAGIC! and MARIS.
Location | Date | Concert time |
Montreal West Exo station | Thursday, November 19 | 7 to 7:30 p.m. |
Beaconsfield Exo station | Thursday, November 19 | 8:30 to 9 p.m. |
The concerts take place outdoors, so dress warmly and plan to arrive before the scheduled performance.
A Holiday Tradition With a Community Purpose
The Holiday Train combines a colourful seasonal spectacle with support for people facing food insecurity.
Admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food or a monetary donation. Contributions stay in the community where they are collected, helping local food banks support neighbours in need.
Now in its 28th year, the program has raised more than $28.3 million and collected over 5.6 million pounds of food since it began in 1999.
Free Entertainment for the Whole Family
The illuminated locomotive and decorated railcars are a major part of the attraction, with the train providing a festive backdrop for live performances.
The Montreal West and Beaconsfield concerts offer two opportunities to take part on opening night, whether you’re returning to a favourite family tradition or seeing the train for the first time.
Plan Ahead
No paid tickets are needed for Holiday Train events. CPKC advises visitors to use its official channels for updates and reminds spectators to stay at least 15 metres from the tracks, keep off railway tracks and ballast, and follow directions at the event.
