Dining rooms will be closed and private gatherings will be limited to family bubbles. Legault announced joined by Health Minister Christian Dubé and Public Health Director Dr. Horacio Arruda.

Places of worship are also to be closed except for funerals with a maximum of 25 people. Non-essential businesses will close for the next three Sundays in order to give businesses with sick workers a break for their employees.

All levels of education are asked to remain closed or have a virtual delivery of courses if possible until at least January 17th.

This comes after Quebec broke another daily record of 14,188 new cases, and nearly 12,000 healthcare workers are currently unable to work due to being sick.
