Tremblant gondola accident: activities canceled

Two people are in critical condition after a major accident involving a panoramic gondola and construction machinery late Sunday morning in Mont-Tremblant.
Emergency services were called to the village of Mont-Tremblant shortly after 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec, the gondola would have yielded following an impact.
The two people inside are in critical condition.
Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec are on the scene to clarify the causes and circumstances of this accident.
A few hours after the serious event, the Tremblant Blues organizers decided to cancel the rest of the activities.
“Due to an incident that took place at the gondola today July 16, we regret to have to cancel the rest of the Tremblant Blues as well as to close all of our activities out of respect for the people involved” , the organization said in a post on the Facebook social network.
