Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence's 13th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $505,000.

The Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence raised a net profit of $505,000 from its 13th annual golf tournament, which was held on August 28, 2023, at the prestigious Royal Montreal Golf Club. This annual golf tournament has raised $4.1 million over the past ten years and established itself as a staple event. This significant gift enables the Residence to continue to thrive. With its 23 beds, the Residence is Canada's largest free-standing palliative care facility and is recognized as a leader in its field.

“We are deeply moved by the outpouring of community spirit and the remarkable generosity of our donors. This steadfast support propels our ongoing mission: to ensure that our patients experience their final days with dignity, surrounded by love, compassion, and the presence of cherished friends and family”, said Dale Weil, Executive Director of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.

The TDPCR relies on donations from the public and fundraising efforts to raise $4.5 million annually. The financial support provided by the community is essential for their free palliative care-related services. Their offerings expand past their clinical care services given to patients in Residence; they offer bereavement support for loved ones and remote services such as Nav-Care, which connects trained volunteers to people living with a serious illness and their caregivers.
