"The "22 Burpee Challenge" is a province wide initiative to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. It was launched by a Chief in Montreal after a fellow firefighter was diagnosed with brain cancer," explained Captain Yann Lefebrve of Station 51 in Sainte Anne de Bellevue. "I reached out to my daughter's school where the ideas was received with enthusiasm."

St. Edmund's principal Melissa Hunter, jumped on the idea.

"When this idea was proposed we thought it would be a great way to get the students involved," Hunter stated. "The cause is very special to us and it encourages physical activity. It is a win win for all."
