The City of Montreal has announced the preventive closure of the Pitfield bridges in the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro for an indefinite period, according to a press release issued on Friday.
"This preventive closure follows a general inspection that revealed worsening cracks on both structures. Further investigations will be conducted in the coming days to analyze the best options and scenarios," the City stated.

Motorists are advised to use Highway 13 to cross the river. "Police presence will be deployed along the detour route," the City noted.
