All new parents in Montréal, regardless of their financial circumstances or immigration status, are eligible to receive one welcome kit per infant. It is necessary for you to:
Reside in one of the 19 boroughs of Montréal.
Have a baby born on or after January 1, 2024, or that is under one year old.
To get your box, visit one of Montréal's 45 libraries. You do not need a library card or to make a reservation.
Bring the following to receive a box:
A document with proof of address provided by an established organization such as: utility bills, bank statements, tax bills from the city or school, bills from educational institutions that are less than three months old, or a driver's license.
Proof of birth with the names of the child’s parents or legal guardians: attestation of birth (accepted within the first 3 months after birth), birth certificate, hospital card, vaccination record, adoption judgment or notice of decision from the Immigration and Refugee Board.
The Montréal Identification and Residence Card issued by Médecins du monde and the Ville-Marie Accès Montréal office will also be accepted.
