Netflix Canada to add classic canadian shows to line up

Netflix Canada to Add Older Canadian Shows to Catalogue – Is Having a Locally Specific Catalogue Beneficial?

Meta: Movie and television show streaming giant Netflix is set to stream older iconic Canadian content. Is having a locally specific catalogue beneficial?

Netflix Canada recently announced that it will soon be adding even more content, which will include some of Canada's older television shows. They are set to start arriving from now until January 2023. It will mainly include television shows, plus you will also soon be able to view several popular Canadian-produced movies.

Here we will be taking a quick look at whether having a locally specific catalogue is beneficial or not. The new titles that are scheduled to be added over the coming months are designed to appeal to a wide range of Canadians of all ages.

How much is a Netflix subscription?

If you live in Canada, you can spend as little as C$9.99 per month for the most basic package, around C$16.49 per month for the Standard package, and around C$20.99 for the Premium package. Although these prices are accurate at the time of writing, they are subject to change at any time.

Ways to watch Netflix?

Canadians can watch Netflix across multiple devices, such as Smart TVs, PCs and laptops, smartphones & tablets, video game consoles, set-top boxes, blu-ray players, and other streaming enabled media players. If you get fed up with playing the same old video games, or if you're tired of playing your favourite games at an online casino, and fancy watching your favourite shows but don't already have a Netflix account, don't forget that you can join in just a few simple steps. The registration process takes less than a few minutes, and once you've signed up, you will have access to thousands of movies and tv shows.

What kind of Canadian shows can we expect to see on Netflix?

Some of the upcoming Canadian-produced television series and movies (in French and English) that Canadians will be able to watch on Netflix are iconic shows, such as Due South, which starred Paul Gross as the Mountie who ended up living in Chicago, a 2011 comedy called Rookie Blue, and a miniseries from 2015 called Pour Sarah. In addition, the Sensitive Skin television series that ran from 2014 to 2016 will also be added, along with a serial killer series called Sequelles from 2016, plus a 2011 comedy called Michael: Tuesdays and Thursdays.

If that's not enough to keep you going, some of the other new titles that Netflix is also rumoured to be adding are a 2018 drama called Hubert & Fanny, Les Filles de Caleb from 2018, and a French language police drama called 19-2. Other notable mentions include a 2001 comedy called La vi, La vie, a 2018 comedy called Let's Get Physical, and a 2010 medical drama called Trauma.

Which other Canadian movies and TV series are currently on Netflix?

If you can't wait for this new Canadian content to arrive, then you may want to check out some of these other great titles in the meantime. You have a variety of comedies, horrors, thrillers, dramas, sci-fis, adventure movies, rom-coms, action movies, and more to check out, and don't forget that new content arrives at Netflix on almost a daily basis.

In no particular order of importance, there are different Trailer Park Boys series and movies, as well as Bon Cop Bad Cop (1 and 2), Some Assembly Required, Arq, and I am the Pretty Little Thing That Lives in the House.

Additionally, Alias Grace, Workin' Moms, Travelers, Anne with an 'E, The Indian Detective, Christmas with a View, Frontier, and Van Helsing, are also set to be added. Big Timber is another popular show, along with Motel Makeover, This is Pop, The Decline, and Blown Away. Netflix also has shows from around the world for Canadians to watch, not just Canadian-produced content. You have tons of Hollywood movies to watch, as well as foreign language films, UK film & TV, and so much more.
