Everything you need to know about the upcoming federal election

The Federal election will take place on Monday, September 20th, 2021. Polling stations will be open for 12 hours. Operating hours will vary by time zone. Do be sure to inform yourself of your assigned polling station before election day.


You can vote early at any of the 500 Elections Canada offices across the country. Voting at these offices must take place before Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Elections Canada offices are open 7 days a week.


Operating hours:


Monday-Friday: 9:00 am - 9:00 pm

Saturday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

Sunday: 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm


Do be sure to check and/or update your registration to vote.


You can also vote by mail. To do so, register online or at any Elections Canada office across Canada. You must apply before Tuesday, September 14th at 6:00 pm. Once you have applied to vote by mail, you will no longer be eligible to vote at advanced polls or on election day.


You can vote on advanced polling days:

Vote at your assigned polling station from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on the following days

Friday, September 10th

Saturday, September 11th

Sunday, September 12th

Monday, September 13th
