A public allegation made by Dorval District 3 Councillor Linda Jun Lu against Mayor Marc Doret is raising concerns about conduct at city hall and the treatment of elected officials who voice dissenting opinions.

At the May 11 Dorval City Council meeting, Councillor Jun Lu publicly alleged that the mayor confronted her on Carson Avenue days earlier over council-related emails and parking issues in her district.

According to Jun Lu, the interaction lasted approximately 30 minutes in public and included comments she described as intimidating and humiliating. She alleged the mayor threatened to “throw [her] under the bus” publicly at council and warned her not to become “Pascal number two.”

During the council meeting, Jun Lu stated that elected officials should be able to raise concerns and express differing opinions “without fear of intimidation, personal threats, or public humiliation.”

The mayor did not issue an apology during the meeting and disputed parts of the allegation when questioned by Councillor Pascal Brault.

Supporters of Jun Lu say the incident raises broader questions about professionalism, governance, and whether councillors can freely challenge decisions at city hall without pressure or intimidation.

No official statement from Mayor Marc Doret had been issued at the time of publication.
