City of Vaudreuil-Dorion Launches Borrowable Trash Pickers for Community Clean-Ups!

In a bid to foster community involvement and environmental responsibility, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion has introduced a groundbreaking initiative: borrowable trash pickers available at the municipal library.

Residents of Vaudreuil-Dorion now have an accessible means to organize and participate in clean-up operations within their neighborhoods or local parks, thanks to this innovative program.

The launch of borrowable trash pickers signifies the city's commitment to empowering residents to take proactive steps against litter and pollution. Whether it's organizing a neighborhood clean-up or joining broader community initiatives, these tools offer a practical solution to address environmental challenges.

Mayor Jean-François Parent shared his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "We are excited to provide our residents with the resources they need to make a tangible impact on the cleanliness of our community. By making trash pickers available through the library, we aim to inspire greater participation in local clean-up efforts and foster a sense of pride in our surroundings."

The borrowable trash pickers are designed with durability and functionality in mind, featuring sturdy construction and extended reach for collecting litter from various locations. They are available for loan at no cost to library cardholders, with a borrowing period of up to one week.

Isabelle Tremblay, Director of the Vaudreuil-Dorion Municipal Library, emphasized the convenience of the new service, saying,

"We are thrilled to expand our Library of Things collection to include trash pickers, providing residents with easy access to tools that promote environmental responsibility. By making them readily available, we hope to encourage more individuals to participate in keeping our community clean."

Residents interested in borrowing a trash picker can simply visit the municipal library and inquire at the circulation desk. The initiative has already sparked significant interest among residents eager to contribute to local clean-up initiatives.

With the introduction of borrowable trash pickers, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion reaffirms its commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable community, where every individual plays a role in preserving the environment for future generations.

For more information on borrowing a trash picker or getting involved in community clean-up efforts, residents are encouraged to visit the municipal library or contact city officials.
