Île-aux-Tourtes set to open another lane towards Vaudreuil on Monday.

On the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge, a total of 2 lanes, one in each direction, have been available since December 2. If the weather permits, a third lane will reopen on the bridge on January 15, marking the completion of work that has been ongoing since December on a damaged section of the slab.

Two lanes to Vaudreuil-Dorion and one to Montréal will be open with the reinstatement of the third lane. The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable claims that when one lane was available in each direction, there was more traffic during the westbound evening peak than the eastbound morning peak. They stated that the evening peak was longer-lasting.

As the new arrangement is put into effect, the bridge will be fully closed from Sunday, January 14, at 8 p.m. until Monday, January 15, at 5 a.m. Operational limitations or bad weather may cause the job to be delayed or prolonged.
