**📣 Town Hall Recap: Addressing the Health Care Crisis in Quebec**

This morning, Friday, November 22, 2024, Greg Kelley, MNA for Jacques-Cartier, hosted a crucial Town Hall on the pressing state of Quebec’s health care system. Joined by André Fortin, MNA for Pontiac and Official Opposition Critic for Health, the event provided a platform for residents, caregivers, and non-profits to voice their frustrations and concerns.

**A System Under Strain**

Many attendees shared their struggles with accessing essential services such as home care, navigating transitions to seniors’ residences, and the challenges of end-of-life care. The consensus? The public health care system is not meeting the needs of the people.

"Too many of my constituents believe that the health care system is dysfunctional," said Greg Kelley. "Patients need access to front-line services such as home care, but in the public system, care is simply not readily available. With the rising cost of living, private care is not an option for most. We are here to listen, hold the government accountable, and push for solutions.”

**A Province-Wide Concern**

André Fortin echoed these concerns, pointing to the province-wide issues plaguing health care. “Like us, citizens are witnessing the dismal failure of the CAQ in health care. Emergency room wait times are rising, surgical waitlists are growing, and public sector staff are leaving for better conditions in the private sector. If the Premier has asked to be judged on results, it is clear he is far from passing the health care score.”

**A Call to Action**

The Town Hall emphasized the need for action to address the systemic challenges, prioritize patient care, and rebuild confidence in the public system. Both MNAs reaffirmed their commitment to amplifying these voices in Quebec City and pushing for meaningful change.

Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their experiences. Together, we can work toward a better, more accessible health care system for all Quebecers.
