The 18th edition of the West Island Blues Festival will be held in person this year through pop-up shows taking place around the West Island.
The festival was forced to hold their event virtually last summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The founders of the Festival, Pierrefonds-Roxboro mayor Jim Beis and DDO councilor Errol Johnson say the performances will be taking place live in front of spectators.
To comply with the current COVID-19 health measures, changes had to be made to the planning of the 2021 Blues Festival. It has now been split up into a series of "pop-up shows" that will be taking place in various cities on the West Island. They have been planned over four weekends from July to September.
In order to limit the size of crowds, the organizers stated that the exact times of the shows will not be published. Admission will be limited to 500 people.
The Blues Fest will feature performances by Justin Saladino, Brian Greenaway, Ben Racine, Christian Brière and more. Further details are expected to be announced as the show dates approach.
