"The Naughty Nine," Disney's newly-released Christmas movie, features scenes shot in Pointe-Claire.

Disney has released their newest children's Christmas movie, "The Naughty Nine," to its Disney+ streaming platform. Many scenes were filmed across Montreal and on the West Island. Specifically, the production team made camp on Killarney Gardens Street in Pointe-Claire. A home in the area was used as a filming site in March 2022. To the dismay of local residents, the grassy section in the middle of the street was covered with a gravel bed during several shoots, transforming it into an improvised parking place for big trucks and trailers.

The film follows eight up-and-coming child actors during their North Pole heist. The mischievous bunch, led by fifth grader Andy, find themselves on Santa's naughty list and are determined to get the presents they feel they deserve. Keep an eye out for Danny Glover's debut as Santa!

The West Island is no stranger to providing filming sites for large movie production companies. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014) shot exterior scenes in Vaudreuil-Dorion, as did "Brooklyn," the 2015 romantic drama that starred Saoirse Ronan. "The Whole Nine Yards" (2000), starring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry, was filmed partly in Pointe-Claire and Dorval., and "The Score" (2001), with Robert De Niro, Edward Norton, and Marlon Brando, includes scenes shot at the Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
