Montréal Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Dorval Vehicle Theft and Assault on Officer

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has arrested a 25-year-old suspect who allegedly rammed an unmarked police vehicle to evade an interception on April 22 near the intersection of 55th Avenue and Guthrie Avenue in Dorval. The suspect managed to flee the scene at that time.

The investigation, led by the Western Criminal Investigations Division, resulted in the suspect's apprehension on June 14. The suspect is set to appear on June 15, at the Montreal courthouse to face multiple charges, including vehicle theft, trafficking in criminally obtained goods, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and armed assault on a peace officer. The suspect is also believed to be involved in another attempted vehicle theft on April 22 in Kirkland.

This marks the second arrest in this investigation. An accomplice was arrested on April 22 and appeared in court the following day on charges including vehicle theft and possession of stolen goods.

The SPVM emphasizes that attacking police officers is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Individuals committing such acts will be arrested and held accountable for their actions.

The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are possible. Anyone with information about similar incidents is urged to contact 911 or their local police station.
