Lane closure due to maintenance for l'Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge

The progression of some existing cracks on the bridge linking Vaudreuil-Dorion to Senneville will result in the closure of an additional lane as of Tuesday, December 20th. Two lanes per direction will remain available to traffic.

During the first episodes of freezing temperatures, the ministère des Transports has identified the progression of some existing cracks on the side of the bridge towards Vaudreuil-Dorion.

"The department has already begun the required reinforcement work, but in order to continue the interventions in complete safety for workers and road users, the closure of an additional lane is necessary," said the ministère des Transports in a press release Friday.

The dynamic traffic management system, which has been in place since July 2022 and which maintains three lanes in the peak direction thanks to a removable barrier, will be suspended while the work is completed.

To mitigate the impact of this additional lane closure, the department will temporarily provide a dedicated bus and emergency vehicle lane in each direction on the approach to the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge. The date of implementation will be announced in early 2023.
