VAUDREUIL-DORION, October 8, 2025 — With municipal elections fast approaching, Inspire Vaudreuil-Dorion has unveiled its electoral platform, placing “quality of life” and the citizen experience at the core of its political commitment.

In a newly released video, party leader and mayoral candidate Karine Lechasseur sat down with Maëlys Eouani(District 2 – Valois) and Vanessa Leduc (District 7 – Desrochers) to share a vision of Vaudreuil-Dorion as an inclusive, active, and inspiring city built on a human scale.

Creating Spaces That Bring People Together

For candidate Vanessa Leduc, improving quality of life starts with reimagining how existing public spaces are used.

“I would like us to multiply third places — existing public spaces that we could use differently,” said Leduc. “For example, transforming the future refrigerated skating rink near Quatre-Saisons Park into a covered public market in the summer, or offering cooking workshops in our community centers. These places allow people to gather, connect, and build social ties.”

Leduc emphasized that Inspire plans to develop an action plan to improve recreation access, neighborhood safety, and cleanliness in public spaces — while also strengthening eco-friendly and sustainable practices to protect the environment for generations to come.

Culture, Inclusion, and Connection

Party leader Karine Lechasseur highlighted that social cohesion depends not only on safety and green spaces, but also on culture as a bridge between citizens.

“We must be able to meet, enjoy nature, and feel safe. But we must also restore culture’s role as a unifying force,” said Lechasseur. “Through cultural mediation, we can create dialogue between artists, schools, organizations, and citizens. That’s what turns a city into a vibrant community.”

Meanwhile, Maëlys Eouani underlined the importance of ensuring that every resident feels included and heard.

“Every citizen must feel valued and heard,” she said. “By promoting diversity and integrating the needs of all groups, we can build a city where everyone finds their place. Young people, for instance, need spaces where they can create, express themselves, and get involved — whether through cultural, technological, sports, or community projects.”

Building for a Healthy, Active Future

The Inspire team believes that a thriving city is one where citizens of all ages can stay active and connected year-round. To that end, the party proposes the construction of a sports dome to extend the outdoor activity season and a re-evaluation of the aquatic complex location to integrate it with the city’s future Health Hub — combining recreation, learning, and rehabilitation in one accessible space.

“Quality of life is a collective project that requires everyone’s participation,” said Lechasseur. “Our city is growing: we must anticipate its real needs. It’s time to offer every citizen a city that reflects them — inclusive, welcoming, and inspiring.”

With its emphasis on human connection, cultural vitality, and sustainable growth, Inspire Vaudreuil-Dorion aims to build not just a city that functions — but one that thrives.
