Montreal, December XX, 2024 – This winter, downtown Montreal will shine brighter than ever with the enchanting winter light display organized by Montréal centre-ville. This spectacular initiative features over 800,000 twinkling lights and 700 installations—a record-breaking display this year! Whether you're strolling with family, a loved one, or friends, there’s no better time to soak in the festive atmosphere or finish your holiday shopping in a magical setting. Among the nine main attractions, *The Frozen Pearl Forest, The Starry Gallery,* and *The Sparkling Tunnel* will transport you to a world of wonder. The self-guided route takes just under an hour to complete, is entirely free, and open to everyone.

This winter, any excuse is a good one to wander through the dazzling lights while enjoying everything downtown has to offer,"* says Glenn Castanheira, Executive Director of Montréal centre-ville.


### THREE MUST-VISIT SQUARES ON THE ROUTE


#### **Dorchester Square: The Frozen Pearl Forest**

Surrounded by architectural gems like the Marie-Reine-du-Monde Cathedral and Place du Canada, Dorchester Square pays tribute to Montreal’s heritage in a stunning way. Marvel at towering illuminated moose, suspended glowing orbs, and a romantic light-covered bridge.


#### **Phillips Square: The Starry Gallery**

A breathtaking experience awaits at Phillips Square, where the historic Birks building shines brilliantly, along with the illuminated façade of La Baie and the columns of the Cement Canada building. At the heart of the square, giant glowing deer will delight visitors of all ages, creating a dreamlike setting. Step through the luminous archway and be transported into a winter wonderland.


#### **Victoria Square: The Sparkling Tunnel**

Nestled among architectural landmarks like the Tour de la Bourse and the World Trade Centre, Victoria Square comes to life with an extraordinary display. Wander through five glowing tunnels and admire 43 suspended structures creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. The illuminated Beaver Hall hill seamlessly connects Old Montreal to Phillips Square, making for an even more magical evening stroll.


The winter lights, which have been brightening up the city since November 23, will remain on display until March. This event is made possible thanks to the support of the Ville-Marie borough and the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy.
